VISIBLE CRUELTY
(8-sonnet sequence) PART 4
(7) I
THINK THAT GOOD OL' XANDERsaid it
best
when after Cordy quickly turned
her face
away from "weirdo" Buffy
and the rest --
when gratitude so
quickly did erase . . .
. . . and
popularity returned full-purr
as
first priority in her mean
life.
Where is Invisi-Girl when you
need her?"
Yes Xander
"joked" about that girl with knife, . .
.
. . . but treating people by "the
social rules"
creates an anger
that is justified.
No, we don't want
no Uzi's loose at schools,
but social
villainy can't be denied.
Must it
be the cold rule of life that "b*tch"
goes
hand in glove with popular (and
rich)?
(8) AND must the social
darwinism scheme
frame school enviornments
without restraint?
Must even teachers
play on the same team
of pecking
order rules? WELL, I'm no saint . .
.
. . . that can change hearts and
minds at will,
but institutions can
grow to include
new "processes" that
are designed to kill
the need for
violence which can intrude . . .
.
. . through human spirit that says "I
refuse
to let these bastards get away with
this."
THE ANSWER'S new proceedures
that defuse
the standard pecking system,
JUST LIKE THIS:
A forum
where contempt is put on
trial.
That makes eight
sonnets. Time to quit . . . and
smile.
