#135-138/154 Rhetorical verse in
Shakespearean sonnet form
HAIKU
PROLOGUE
Looking at my notes I thought this
would be high praise. For some reason . . .
not.
Again I complain of a flawed hero design
. . . though I liked this ep.
I was moved
to tears by Noxon's "orchestration" of all the
ideas.
Running low on gas as we reach one
fifty four I let this pour out.
But sometimes
the truth (at least what you truly think) comes
out when you're tired.
Maybe the truth is . . .
like Great Gatsby's writer wrote his
daughter Scottie . . .
. . . "I'd just like to
preach in some acceptible form." Uh oh!, Here
we go . . . <serious
smile>
UNFORGIVENESS
- RE: "I Only Have Eyes For You" #31 of
BtVS
(1) "THE DEMON
WHO WEAR'S [ANGEL'S] FACE," she said.
"MY
BOYFRIEND'S GONE FOREVER," Buffy
knows.
It's not the soul with which she went to
bed.
I like this episode, but Buffy blows
. . .
. . . away my sympathy with air-head
bile.
It's not a case of someone done her
wrong.
Within her boyfriend's heart there was no
guile.
While Angel, his pure love for her
was stong.,
He did not make a choice
to turn on her.
The thing that stalks her
friends is just not him.
She says the words, but
they do not transfer
from where her lips move
down through her brain stem . . .
. . . into
her heart of hearts . . . which ought to know:
to
hate someone who's innocent is
low.

| (2) IT WASN'T
ANGEL who killed Calendar.
SHE KNOWS a soulless
demon wears his face.
Whatever Buffy's
anger issues stir,
her stance of
unforgiveness has no
base.
Yes, kill the vampire. That's her
sacred role.
But hate Angelus for
his evil acts?
Her personal heartbreak? Pure
self-control
is something that our hero,
sadly, lacks.
OBSESSION for
revenge is "common-sense.".
A
cultural affliction none too rare.
AROUND
THE WORLD nerves fray and muscles
tense
responding to hard thoughts of "It's
not fair . . .
. . .They must be
made to pay for what they've
done."
Self-righteous
clarity."Where is my gun? . .
.

(3) . . .
She hurt me badly. She did not return
the love I
gave her. Now the b*tch must pay.
(Rip off his
skin and then make his flesh burn.)
BUT DON'T
FORGET ABOUT THE RICOCHET . . .
. . . FROM
violence unleashed at anger's
call.
There's always one stray shot that's off
the mark
and flies off into heaven. Angels
fall
to earth with silenced messages. We hark
. . .
. . . in vain for what God hoped that
we would hear.
And so the anger quotient
rises fast.
Unleashing violence, and so,
more fear.
I WONDER how much longer we can
last . . .
. . . with heroes who
can't ever understand
that "foolish"
"love-your-enemy" command . . .
(4) .
. . that came from someone men nailed on a
cross.
A small one Buffy wears upon
her chest.
But as for what it means, she's at a
loss.
It works for self-defense . . . no vamps
molest . . .
. . . her cleavage without
punishment, right then.
Touch there, and
justice is an instant thing.
No
tiiresome sermons 'bout the wage of sin.
"IT
BURNS!" You yell so loud your own ears
ring.
No need to prove the crime, invoke
the laws.
Somewhere a trigger's pulled.
Somewhere a scream.
Why did the Lord
design in all these flaws?
Like
Buffy, maybe this is all a
dream.
STRANGE VERSE, since I liked this
Buf pretty well.
LAST NIGHT'S
kind Dawson's Creek was truly
swell. <serious
smile>
[THE END]

REMINDER:
Tea Time in L.A. (M-F) comes to a close the day
after final Buffy of the season 5/22
Final
episode of Tea Time in L.A. (7-8 PM BRONZE TIME) is Wed.
5/22
That a weekly version (still being designed)
to be called TeaTimeSunday 4-5PM BRONZE TIME
(every Sunday) begins on June 2
NOTE: The insane idea of putting
Buffy thoughts in Shakespearean sonnet
form . . . is based on the even more insane idea
that you might want to give it a try
yourself.
For a "sonnetized" explanation of why
this is not insane <g> . . . you might
read my previous Bronze threads WHY I POST IN
SHAKESPEAREAN SONNETS: PART 1: tid=48156
PART 2: tid=48152
THEN if that challenge
seems like an interesting one to you, look for TEA
TIME in L.A. at 7:00 PM BRONZE TIME daily
. . . which is truly strange. <g> But it
just might save the world. <ewg> In any case,
you can brag about being able to write better than
fill-in-the-blank. <g>
