PROLOGUE
Season Six's end returns us to true
balance in the Buffyverse.
TEA
TIME SONNETS #151-154 of
154 Rhetorical verse in
Shakespearean sonnet
form
154
(1)
THERE'S NOTHING NEED BE SAID when all is
right.
The Buffyverse is
balanced once again.
With tears of joy I
ended Tuesday night.
To verse beyond that
perfect pause . . . a sin.
AND SO I'll
turn my versifying soul
(inspired by
Spike's surprise) to Tea Time's
end.
Like Dawn and Buffy's climb out
of a hole.
Like Willow's black . .
. and Giles's white arts
blend.
THE TEA TIME THREADS'
complexity resolves --
I hope with half
the beauty of our source.
THE BUFFY
WORLD 'round which our moon revolves.
THE
JOSS-DRAWN MAP on which we chart our course . .
.
. . . through concepts deep enough
for PhDs
to spend a whole day talking
Buffy-ese.

(2) I PAUSE
NOW to stick in a pers'nal ad.
No, not for
love, but sponsorship to go
to Norwich
England. One full day (Egad!)
of lots
of Buffy sentences. You know, . . .
.
. . an egghead conf'rence of high
Buffy-talk.
October nineteenth.
"Bloody sodding hell.
The slayer diagrammed
with blackboard chalk,
complete with
wanker-academic smell."
I'm sure that's
what you're thinking. Well, this too:
Would
Shakespeare stick an ad right in his
verse?
WELL DON'T YOU KNOW Will's sonnets had
to do
with keeping sponsorship. This is no
worse.
WELL ANYWAY, that ends my plea for
cash.
SO BACK TO TEA TIME'S END. I
smell corn mash.
(3) That's right, there
was a trial in Tennessee.
In
Lynchburg where Jack Daniels rules
supreme.
WHERE'S BUFFY in this
trial of folks that tea?
SHE'S ON THE JURY
. . . eating some ice cream . . .
. . . to
keep her cool, 'cause she's been getting hot
like
all the vis'ting ladies . . . at the sight
of one
fine, red-haired holyman who's not
the
least conceited . . . though he's always right.
<ewg>
IF NOXON can have
Xander save the earth,
THEN "good ol'
me" can star in these few lines.
AND, HEY
GUYS, I'm the mother giving birth
to all
the Tea Time fun and monkeyshines.
SO
I can write whatever that I choose.
AND IF it's
boring. HEY, OK, just
snooze.

(4) BUT WAKE
UP NOW . . . we've made the final turn.
One
hundred fifty four, this sonnet makes.
You'd
think by now forensic could discern
when
to discard strange lines . . when his verse takes . .
.
. . . a lazy turn down roads without a
map.
Like Y TU MAMÁ TAMBIÉN . . . three
souls
who by the grace of God find in their
lap
a dream they conjured up, yet still
consoles.
Although they made it up . . . yet
it was there.
From darkness they awoke to
sparkling dawn.
And fish and beer arrived by sea.
A prayer
was answered that was never counted
on.
I feel the same way ending Season
Six.
A beautif'lly adjusted
Buffy-mix.
[THE
END]
